Buzz Book Expo 2022: Cemetery Gates Media

Buzz Book Expo 2022: Cemetery Gates Media 682 384 Buzz Book Expo

Cemetery Gates Media was a first-time presenter at the Expo and they treated us with not only appearances from some of their authors, but also a really generous Q&A from co-founder, Joe Sullivan.  No doubt, the audience’s book shopping lists grew after this presentation!

If you’d like to watch the Cemetery Gates presentation, here is the link to the full video.  Cemetery Gates come on at about the 2:29:25 mark.

The presentation began with Joe Sullivan giving a brief history of Cemetery Gates Media.  He also talked about some upcoming anthologies we can expect:

  • Campfire Macabre Vol. 2 edited by Brhel and Sullivan (Oct. 2022)
  • The second Liminal Spaces anthology edited by Kevin Lucia called Strange Geographies
  • A dark academia anthology that will be open to submissions in early 2023

Joe also talked about Sadie Hartmann’s curated 6 book novella series called My Dark Library.  A couple of these books were later featured by their authors!  To learn more about My Dark Library and see the books that Sadie curated for the series, here’s the website!

Author Kelsea Yu came on and talked about her novella, Bound Feet (out now) that is one of the novellas featured by My Dark Library.  Kelsea gave a great description of her book and we’re all looking forward to it!

Author Michael Harris Cohen talked about his collection, Effects May Vary (Oct. 4).  This collection features award-winning stories next to brand new works and it’s all wrapped up in an unforgettable cover.  This book looks like it would satisfy any reader of horror or dark fiction!

Author Wesley Southard came on to talk to us about his new collection, The Mostly Come At Night (Nov. 8).  Wesley talked about how these newer tales represent him as a growing, evolving man.  We’re all so excited to read this new collection!

Author Tim McGregor talked about his novella Taboo in Four Colors.  This is also a work featured by My Dark Library.  Tim tells us about this genre-mash piece that sounds like it would delight a wide audience.  We look forward to Taboo in Four Colors!

Author P.L. Watts talked about her work The Bonny Swans (Jan. 2023) and about her connection to the song.  We got a really great sales pitch for the book and we are absolutely itching for January to get here so we can read it!

Author Stephanie Parent talked to us about her debut book, The Briars (May 2023).  Stephanie did a fantastic job pitching the highlights and overall tone of this book and the audience really responded!  May can’t get here fast enough!

You can also look forward to the book Full Fathom Five by Tyler Jones (Dec. 2022)

Then Joe Sullivan appeared for a Q&A and our very own Mary SanGiovanni talked to him about My Dark Library and some other topics.  In case you’re new to her as a force of nature, Mary is great at this part and she popped in quite often during presentations to ask the presenters some questions.  Joe was very gracious and informative and we are all very happy to see Cemetery Gates Media doing so many interesting things in the genre!
